"The Emperor's New Clothes is one of the many themes in my ongoing trilogy, part of my in-depth exploration of natural fiber.

This exhibition focuses on the silk cocoon as a source of life, energy and magic. It is a pivotal concept out of which other images and associations emerge.

Through the cultivation of mulberry trees, the raising of silk worms and witnessing the spinning of silken cocoons, I have gained insight into the inevitability of life's processes and the concept of 'the survival of the fittest'.

The Emperor's New Clothes is a metaphor for the visible and the invisible, the surface and the secret contained within the perfect shape of the cocoon."
