Megan McCabe

The paintings included in this show were completed in 2007. It is a selection from a body of work entitled Family Vacation which I am still in the process of completing. Family Vacation was inspired by the photos and experiences of my parents during the 1970's and 80's, and is referred to in order to build my compositions. Specific details within these photographs have sparked recollections from my own childhood. This has in turn, created the basis from which I can explore different themes through my work. These three paintings have achieved a level of vagueness and tension that I strive for in my work. I aim to describe a narrative while simultaneously retaining the ambiguity of its characters and environment.
