Robert Pilot

1898-1967 Robert Wakeham Pilot, born at St John's, Newfoundland. Moved to Montreal in 1911. Pupil of his stepfather Maurice Cullen; also studied at the school of the Art Association of Montreal with Cullen and William Brymner and the Academie Julian, Paris. A.R.C.A. in 1925, R.C.A. in 1935; P.R.C.A. 1952-1954. Taught etching at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts, Montreal, 1935-1939. Has travelled widely in Europe and North Africa. Served in both World Wars; M.B.E. in 1945. Lives in Montreal.
