"My work is created from an interest in the landscapes that surround me. Working from this as a focus, I can then take these elements of nature and play with light, colour and pattern to reinvent the way I see. My intent is to paint expressive landscapes that are extensions of what I see in nature and create a geography of personal reference."
Nicola Morgan is a Vancouver artist who has a broad range of experience in fine arts. She graduated from Emily Carr College of Art and Design in the early eighties. She has written and illustrated several award-winning children's books. Recently, Nicola has begun to paint full time and has had several exhibitions of her work. Her art is vibrant and colourful. For Nicola the "process of art making is powerful and essential." Her expressive landscapes explore our relationships with nature.
