Andrea Taylor
Andrea is a prolific painter and printmaker, and publisher of her own letterpress books.
Images reflect Andrea's focus on the impermanence of the material world. She seeks to explore her own discomfort with mortality and in so doing to create a dialogue around our cultural denial of our own materiality.
Andrea's work features mainly oil paintings on canvas and on vellum as well as etchings.
Andrea is a member of the Dundarave Print Workshop at Granville Island, where she enjoys the company of other printmakers. To date, she has had four solo shows at Dundarave (2003, 2006, 2009, and October, 2011), has participated in many group shows, and has recently had a large painting accepted for a juried show at Surrey Art Gallery. She has exhibited in a number of international juried shows. Her work is in private collections in Canada, USA, Germany, Sweden, Japan, Australia, UK, Greece, and France. Andrea's letterpress books are in the special collections of many academic and public libraries, including UBC and SFU.
