Here he found he preferred to work with sculpture began an apprenticeship in a private studio in Vancouver and continued at the 'Art in Bronze Foundry' in Kelowna. In the fall of 1988, Cameron Douglas travelled to Europe in what would be a profound artistic experience for him. He was deeply moved by the works of Emile Antoine Bourdelle and Antonio Borrego Gutierrez. He spent another year after his return to Canada working at 'Bronzart Casting' in Calgary. Douglas finally took up sculpture full time after this last apprenticeship.
